Joining Sterling Accreditation via APEL - Information for new applicants

(APEL) Approved Prior Experiential Learning

APEL recognises the value of learning gained both within formal educational institutions, and through experiential learning. It is a process that enables people of all ages and backgrounds to receive formal recognition for skills and knowledge they already possess. A person's learning and experience can be formally recognised and taken into account when seeking a qualification in:

  • Air Conditioning Levels 3 & 4 (APEL Accreditation for Air Conditioning Reports (ACRs for commercial buildings)
  • Commercial EPC Levels 3 & 4 (APEL Accreditation for Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for commercial buildings)
  • Display Energy Certificate (APEL Accreditation for calculation of Operational Ratings (ORs) and the production of Display Energy Certificates (DECs) and associated Advisory Reports (ARs)

APEL Applications are £250+VAT invoiced on completion

 

In order to qualify a candidate must have formal qualifications in the building and construction industries, or have significant experience working in the field. Both groups of applicants must demonstrate that they have the required knowledge and understanding to meet the required National Occupational Standards for the Accreditation sought.
